Daily Skin Care Essentials

So, I wanted to introduce you to my daily skin care/lip care favourites. I rarely experiment with different skin care products as my skin is extremely awkward (dry, pale, uneven, prone to breakouts, red) and even more frustrating. Once I find a product I like and one that really works for me, I tend to stick to it.

First up, Carmex is a real must have, no matter who you are, you should definitely carry Carmex with you wherever you go. During the change from winter to warmer temperatures, my lips went really dry and not much was helping them (I got prescribed medicines from the doctor which didn't even work) but when I started using Carmex religiously, they really did improve!
I personally prefer the original flavour to the cherry and I would rather have the pot design over the tubes as I find the product in the tubes is too sticky.

Next up for lip care is another simple, high street and extremely affordable product by Nivea. I love this Milk & Honey lip balm for everyday maintenance. The flavour/smell is definitely not one to suit everyone as a lot of people who have used it complain about the smell, however, I love the smell. The formula of this product is so creamy and nourishing and I love love love it!

At the end of the day, I am surprisingly good at taking my makeup off properly. There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning with yesterdays make up still clinging to your face.

For my eye makeup I use this 'Simple Kind to Eyes' eye make up remover. I don't think there is much you can say about an eye make up remover other than, this definitely does the job! I have been using this particular product for years now and I am reluctant to try any others as it really doesn't have any faults.

For my face, this beautiful Clarins Cleansing Milk. Again, this product definitely does the job, but it does more than just remove my make up, it cleanses so well and really cools the skin which in the summer is great! During the winter, I find this cleanser extremely moisturising, but not really greasy.
It is more pricey than your average drug store however, this product lasts for ages and is so worth the price. I am also reluctant to try any other cleansers as this one works so well for me and feels so fabulous on my skin!

After I remove my make up at night and before I apply any make up in the morning, I always use this Body Shop Cool and Creamy Wash on my face. This is a fairly recent find when I was desperate for a new product which would really help my breakouts. I already knew of the Tea Tree range in the Body Shop and how effective other products from the range had been for my skin so I decided to try this. It was only £5 and to me, that is firstly, not a bad price for the Body Shop and secondly, a bargain for the quality.

My breakouts had gotten very bad and within a week of using this wash they had virtually gone, my skin was less red and the breakouts had significantly reduced. I love the creamy consistency of this wash as my skin is dry and a lot of cleansing washes suck the moisture out of me, this wash however cleanses and moisturises to an extent.

Onto moisturisers, my everyday/daytime/morning moisturiser is the Clarins Daily Energizer Cream. The overall formula and effectiveness of this product is really positive as it feels light on the skin and is highly moisturising. However, I am slowly falling out of love with this product. This is probably due to the fact that I am growing bored of it after using it for several years. I also don't find it lasts particularly long and considering the price you pay, it almost doesn't seem worth it.

I occasioanlly use this tinted moisturiser by Clarins in the shade 03. I don't often use this moisturiser alone as I blend it well and therefore don't feel it satisfies my need for really moisturised skin.
During the summer, this product gets its prime use as it is lighter than a foundation, however, without a prime, it doesn't hold or last. Mixed feelings about this product and possibly a waste of money as I really only use it when I want to look slightly more tanned under my makeup.

This is a slightly odd essential and I cannot imagine many beauty bloggers including such a luxury in their regime (kidding, so not luxurious!!) E4 may not be the most glamorous product, but who needs glamour? I wouldn't use this on my skin in the morning as it is very greasy and I would just lose my makeup in it however, in the evening, before bed, a layer of this really does help! I don't know what more there is to say about this product...

Last, but definitely not least, in fact, this is probably most most essential product. The Tea Tree Oil by the Body Shop is my saviour for breakout - prone skin. I apply this every morning to my breakout and my blemishes. At first, this showed really dramatic changes to my skin and now that my skin is a lot better than it was before this product entered my life, it sort of just maintains my complexion and keeps the breakouts away. Of course my skin isn't perfect (its far from it) but since using this it has really really improved. This oil is £7 for a tiny bottle but I continue to buy it. My only advice would be:
-only use a very small amount as you dont actually need much for it to do the job
-apply it using your finger (clean your hands before) because using a cotton bud just absorbs the product and its really wasteful

Thank you for reading and congratulations if you got to the end of this veryyyyyy long post!

E x
