Hey guys!
So to celebrate the fact that I am back, after a few months away from my blog, I decided a June favourites would be very appropriate and as I have been feeling summery recently - with the occasional sunny day boosting my spirits through weeks of revision - I wanted to share with you, what I have been using a lot over the past month and what I have been LOVING!
As you can see, I have incorporated beauty, skin care and a few fashion bits into this post, purely because when I compiled a list, in my trusty notebook, I simply asked myself 'what are you reaching for everyday at the moment', and this these are the things that instantly sprang to mind!
These sunglasses, from Fat Face, have been on my face constantly for the last month! I have a really odd face (haha) and when it comes to hats and sunglasses, I can never really get on with many styles. However, the shape of these sunglasses, as I have now discovered, really suit my face shape well and I think the aviator style are one that suits more or less any face!
They have UV protection lenses, which I always look for in sunglasses, especially when they are cheaper and I just love the gold rim details! I am actually almost tempted to buy another pair, exactly the same, because I love them so much!
These are actually old ones, but there are identical ones in the current stock.
As you all know by now, if you have read my previous posts, I do really struggle with my skin. I have spent a lot of time trying products and switching things up in order to help my skin. This month, I have been reaching, almost every morning, for this face cleaner by Vichy.
My skin is a combination of oily and dry and I am prone to breakouts.. this cleanser is by far the best I have ever tried - it doesn't dry my skin out, it doesn't make it super oily - it just balances everything perfectly. I also find that this really cleanses my skin and leaves it feeling and looking fresh and clean!
I will 100% be re purchasing this - ooh that is another thing, it is lasting me a long time considering I use 2-3 pumps everyday!
Many months back, I can't even remember how many, but it was around the end of last summer, I discovered this deodorant. Not a spray and not a roll on, just made of one ingredient. At first, I genuinely didn't think this product was going to work - I thought I would use it, and within an hour, be sweaty and smelly. To my surprise, however, it worked and it protected me from being stinky!
This is a crystal deodorant that you literally dip into a bit of water an apply to your armpit. I decided to try this as I hate roll ons and I find spray deodorants quite over powering. This is unscented and protects me ALL day and as far as I am aware - I don't smell!?
Yes, it is back and I am still loving it. The St. Moriz tanning mousse has been a favourite of mine for over a year. I use it throughout the year for a natural looking tan and I just love it. I apply this using a mitt as it is instant and I am not a fan of the fake tan hands look! During the summer, and throughout the past month, I build this tan up, usually applying a couple of layers for a bronzed summer glow. I tend to leave it for a couple of days before exfoliating it off and re - applying - one of my key tips would be to exfoliate before application because it always looks better and applies easier.
I actually steal this from my sister as I am yet to buy my own, and I therefore have her to thank for this being my favourite hair care product at the moment. I apply a pea sized drop of the Moroccaan Oil to my hands and warm it up (working it together between my palms) before applying it to my hair, avoiding the roots. Recently, I have been more conscious of caring for my hair and I have found that the Moroccan Oil seriously helps the condition of my locks.
Nails! I have been determined the past few months to grow and maintain my nails - and I have succeeded, with the odd broken nail. I am still an absolute lover of the Barry M Gelly nails and I just think they last so well. I am also a fan of Nails Inc at the moment for similar reasons - they apply well and last!
Left to right: Pink Punch, Blueberry, Howick Place, Prickly Pear, Lychee, Upper Cheyne Row, Sugar Plum, Passion Fruit
Contouring - something I am really into at the moment. I am still on the look out for a more grey toned contour product for my fair skin, however, I love the bronzed look the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil gives me. This is perfect for summer, purely because the colour is so refreshing and I always feel like I have been on holiday when I am wearing it. PLUS, it smells, and sometimes tastes (when I tap the excess product off my brush) like chocolate - you can't lose!
At first, I really wasn't a fan. I thought the Roller Lash by Benefit was clumpy and too thick. I hated how it looked on my lashes and they felt heavy. I got this tester when the product was launched and after trying it a few times, it got thrown in my drawer and left there, until June.. when I decided to try it again, I still feel like the product is quite thick, however, with a bit of patience this can look so effective!
This is my go - to mascara at the moment, although I am yet to find a mascara which holds a curl all day.
Finally, shoes! It is unusual for me to buy heels, especially when I am not buying for any particular occasion.. being 5ft 6, I am not a massive heel wearer, however I couldn't resist these Tan Metal Block heeled sandals, and I know already I am going to be getting a lot of wear out of these.
I thought at first, these are perfect for summer... then when I actually tried them on, I think they are going to be amazing all year round - I can definitely see them with a pair of thick black tights? Yes?
Sooo, there we have it, I am at the end of my June faves!
I am so glad to be back blogging - it feels good!
Until next time..
E x
