For the Life of Me, Em: Homemade Peach Iced Tea

With the weather warming up (although right now it is raining, dam you British weather) and the sun shining more, I am loving fruity and refreshing drinks. I decided to have a go at making my own peach iced tea to see how it compared to branded products and I thought I would share the recipe with you as it was YUM :)

First of all you are going to need:

- a large jug

- a medium saucepan

- some cup measures

I made about a litre of iced tea using...

- three tea bags

- 1 cup water

- 1/3 cup sugar

- pinch of bicarbonate soda

- 1 can peaches which I blitzed up and sieved (you are supposed to use peach nectar)

- lemon

- peaches

1. Bring the water up to the boil

2. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags, leave for ten minutes

3. Remove tea bags and add the sugar to hot water until dissolved

4. Add baking powder and peach nectar (or in my case I added the blitzed and sieved canned peaches)

5. Pour peach mixture into the jug and add 2-3 cups of water

6. Chop up the fresh peach and add to jug

7. Mix in the juice of half a lemon

I then finally added some ice to a glass jar (qwerky, I know) and poured myself some of this delicious iced tea...

To give this drink an exotic touch (haha) I added a half slice of lemon and stuck it on the rim of the jar.. which actually gave the drink a nice zing!
