Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear

Good afternoon,

Often, I find it hard to match my skin perfectly to a foundation or base product. Don't get me wrong, I love a good drug store foundation, but when I discovered the phenomenal variety of shades in the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, I was impressed!

When I went in looking at the foundation initially, it was so quick and easy to match my skin making the whole process stress free - what I like!

I have been using this base product daily for a few of months now and honestly, I am shocked. I have literally fallen in love with it and it is now my holy grail product. For someone who isn't confident wearing minimal amounts of make up, this has been completely confidence boosting.

What do I love most about Estee Lauder Double Wear...?

- The matte finish, I am normally a dewy and glowy kind of girl, but since I discovered the amazing matte finish of the Double Wear foundation, I am in love. Plus, you can add your own glow if needs be?

- The coverage, out of all the foundations I have ever tried/tested/used, this one definitely gives the fullest coverage and this is probably why I am sticking to it.

- How buildable it is, sometimes I don't always need/want  a full application of foundation, however, it is build-able, so you can either go for a really natural finish or a really glommed up full finish, or an inbetween'y look.

- Staying power, honestly, this stays on my face for hours. I get a really oily T Zone and used to prime my face everyday. Now I only prime my face when I really want my make up to last all day and all night, which leaves me with one less step in my day to day routine. This does mean removing my make up is a lot harder, but so worth it!

The only problems I have with this product are that 1) The bottle doesn't have a pump and that does drives me crazy! 2) It is hard to remove my make up at the end of the day, but I suppose you win some you lose some and if you want your foundation to last all day, then expect to have to use a few cotton pads to remove it!

All in all, I think that this is such a diverse product. I have been trying out a couple of new base products as well as going back to a few oldies and honestly, nothing is comparing the Double Wear foundation for me.

This may or may not be the kind of product that suits you, but for me it is a winner and I am love love loving it at the moment, definitely one to re-purchase!

Until next time,

Review | Clarins True Radiance Foundation

Good afternoon,

With its sleek packaging (although rather hefty) and its weightless consistancy, this is the Clarins True Radiance Foundation...

Over the summer, I fell in love with this foundation from Clarins and although I am not using it as much anymore (look out for a upcoming post which will tell you why..), I still think it is a beautiful product.
After using the True Radiance foundation as soon as it was launched, falling in love with it instantly and then continuing to use it throughout the summer, I can safely say this is a favourite of mine.

So, why did I/do I like this foundation so much?

- It is NOT cakey
- The texture is light and it felt almost as though I was applying water to my face
- Similarly, it felt weightless and in the summer months this was perfect
- The SPF in this, again, makes it a brilliant product, especially for use during the summer
- I love a good foundation and one with a pump is even better!
- The colour was a really good match for my skin

Although I love this foundation and really got on well with it, like with any product, it did have its flaws...

- During the summer, the light/medium coverage was fine for me as my skin was on a bit of a clear roll, however, for my skin now, I prefer way more coverage from a foundation.

Even though I feel this product is more of a spring/summer everyday product, I also feel for people who prefer a lighter coverage, that also feels weightless and not 'claggy' on the skin, this could be the one for you.. whether it is summer or winter!

Stay tuned to see what foundation I am using now as we travel through the winter months...

Five products for the lips...

Like many girls, I am a real fan of any lip related products! If there is one thing I am always drawn to when I walk into Boots, its the lip products and I am always on the look out for new ones!

As the weather is turning and we are heading through autumn and into winter (woo) I am really getting back into the statement lip. From red to purple, matte to gloss, there is such a wide variety of products out there.

Today I want to share with you a few of my current favourites, all of which will be popular in my make up bag this season...

Sleek Matte Me
Around £4.99

I already adore matter lips. When I discovered this matte lip, in a lip gloss form, I was soo intrigued and to my delight, is it brilliant! Easy to apply and its staying power is pretty good! I feel like it is almost a lip stain as well as a matte product!

Revlon Colour Stay Moisture Lip Stain
Around £7.99

One of my most used lip products at the moment, I want more! Definitely a lip stain as it leaves a lovely colour on my lips.

Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balm
Around £7.99

Another of my favourites, this chubby stick style product. Incredibly easy to apply, feels amazing and creamy on the lips, but dries matte! Love love love.

Soap and Gloy Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick
Around £8.00

Perfect for everyday use, gives a nice pop of colour but is very sheer at the same time. Also feels nourishing on the lips.

No7 High Shine Lip Crayon
Around £9.00

Very sheer and perfect for an everyday lip. I would say this suits blonde hair/paler skin the best. Again, very moisturising and natural on the lip meaning it is perfect for this time of year when our lips are struggling with the change in temperature.

I would highly recommend all five of these products, although, I am easily pleased when it comes to lip products!

See you soon,
